Burr Elm & Glass Table

I have seen this idea in a few different forms, most notably work by the American designer Greg Klassen and have been keen to find an excuse to make a natural edge table with glass in the centre. The excuse actually came in finding a great piece of elm that lent its self to the idea. While a really interesting natural edge is a fantastic feature – especially a piece of burr elm like this – is often isn’t practical for furniture as it leaves a very rough edge exposed. The idea of having the edge visible under glass solves this.

Think this idea can easily be scaled up to dining table size. Very keen to try that!
